I sit here writing this newsletter at 11:30PM sipping from a cup of coffee as I wait for the message to pick up my son from a post-theater activity. During the Fall semester theater students direct and perform in One Act sketches, songs, or dance routine. The performances are always great. I’m always excited to see kids, or anyone for that matter, dedicate their time and energy to producing art.
At this point, I’m still an hour or two away from getting the call. Needless to say I’m up way past my bedtime. To top it all off, I’ll have to turn around and take him back tomorrow morning for a matinee performance! My other son is preparing for a competition at the culinary academy all weekend so he will need rides there and back as well. It’s time to get these kids their driver’s licenses!
With a late night, early morning, and a lot of running around ahead, my fuel of choice for the next couple of days will be hot black coffee.
Note: My son texted me to pick him up just as I finished writing this paragraph 🙂
Mechhaven Missives
- October has been more productive than September. I’ve written twelve out of the last fifteen days and have more words completed so far this month than all of last month.
- I just finished writing one of the final four segments of Rally Point. I plan to get through two more this weekend, leaving the final segment which will be several scenes in a super cool action sequence.
- My fingers are crossed that I’ll have some exciting news to announce in the next newsletter. This is an exciting part of the process, I’m eager to start editing, but I have to finish the first draft first! Also, ideas for Book 5 are percolating in my brain.
