I want to say a heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who has recently purchased/read Mechhaven Book 4: Rally Point, or any of the other books in the Mechhaven series. I truly appreciate your support. Also, “thank you” to all of you who’ve been with me from the beginning, or found my books somewhere in-between!
With the launch of Rally Point on August 24th and with promotions running on Pax Machina, Mechs and Machinations, and On Darkhaven Forged, the last couple of weeks have been very busy.
I’m excited to say that August 2023 turned out to be my second best month ever in terms of sales, and I’m hoping to keep the momentum going well into September and beyond!
There’ll be some exciting announcements coming soon, so please keep in touch by reading this newsletter every two weeks.
If you haven’t picked up Rally Point or any of the other Mechhaven books, the promotions are now over, but the books are for sale on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited. You can get them by clicking here.
Mechhaven Missives
- This week was supposed to be a recharge week for me, but I ended up working on and ordering a retractable banner and updated bookmarks for in-person events I’ll be attending beginning in November. Next up is to order copies of all four books to sell at those events. After that, there are a few other items that I’d like to have in order to round out my booth and swag.
- This weekend my goal is to wrap up editing and formatting the bonus/deleted scenes from Rally Point so I can post the link in the next newsletter. I also want to start work on finishing a Mechhaven-related novella. I’d really like to finish this novella and get it published before I diver back into writing Book 5.
- Here’s a bit of exciting news. Next weekend I’m scheduled to appear on an episode of the Geek Off The Street Podcast! I’ve mentioned that podcast in this newsletter before. One of the hosts is a family friend who I met through my Brother-In-Law. GOTS has been super supportive of my writing career from the very beginning. I’ll be on the show to discuss Mechhaven, writing, and whatever other geek/pop culture topics come up. I’ll post a link and details to the show once it’s live!
Mech of the Month
The Sentinels from the X-Men comics, animated series, and movies are September’s Mech of the Month. The three-story tall, weapons-laden, flying mutant-hunting machines were always ready to cause trouble for the X-Men. Their programming allowed them to adapt their tactics to fight mutants with various powers. Most were non-sentient, however some Sentinels were self-aware.
While using teamwork, the X-Men almost always defeated the Sentinels (except in certain alternate reality storylines). I always knew there would be problems for the heroes when the menacing robots showed up.
