Last weekend I had the pleasure of appearing on Episode 130 of Geek Off The Street. I’ve known one host, Marc Pope, for close to 25 years. Geek Off The Street started about the same time that I released Duel of Destiny and shortly before I released Pax Machina. From the start, Marc and Trent have been super supportive and have promoted me and the Mechhaven series. They’ve always talked about having me on the show, but for some reason we never made it happen. It was becoming a running joke. Now finally, with all the stars in alignment, I made it on the show and we had a wide-ranging discussion on Geek Culture, Mechhaven, Writing, and Indie Publishing. I had a great time. I think Marc and Trent did too! Check it out on the links below:

- If you’ve finished Rally Point, or at least made it through Chapter 8, you can check out “The Hub” some bonus/deleted scenes that were in the first draft of the book but that I removed to increase the pace of the story. I think the scenes are fun and they help fill in some details of events that otherwise happen offscreen, but they’re not critical to your enjoyment of Rally Point. These scenes are free, and are only available to readers of this newsletter. If you decide to read them, please be sure to read the introduction first.
“The Hub” Bonus Scenes From Rally Point
- I’m still working on the novella that I’d like to finish before getting back to work on Mechhaven Book 5. I expect the writing of the novella will take another couple of weeks. It will take a few weeks to edit it, but then I hope to release it toward the end of October.
- Once the novella is released, I’ll dive headlong back into Book 5. As it is, ideas are percolating in the back of my mind, so I should have a flood of inspiration by the time I sit down to continue the story.
