Reporting in from Disneyland. We’ve never been during the holidays, so my wife and I took our kids and her parents. The decorations are quite festive. It’s crowded, but not nearly as bad as I expected.
We walked about a gazillion miles yesterday, and we’ll walk a gazillion more before heading home today.
We haven’t been to a Disney amusement park since right before COVID. Thanks to the magic of the lightening lane, we’ve been able to hit most of the rides we wanted with minimal waiting in line, except one the ride we wanted to try the most, Star Wars: The Rise of the Resistance, which I think is one of the best theme parks experiences to date.
The picture is from Oga’s Cantina, where we wrapped up last night.
Mechhaven Missives
- I hoped to have completed the first draft of By Archangel’s Light by the time I sent out this newsletter. I’m not quite done, but I’m getting there. Pre and post X-mas activities with the family have taken priority over the last few days.
- The good news is since the last newsletter, I had eight or nine solid writing days. The scenes are all action at this point, so they’re very fast-paced and fun to write.
- I left off with a certain very cool character in a very horrible predicament, so I can’t wait to resolve it. Pretty much all the heroes are at their lowest point in the battle, so it’s time for them to start kicking some a$$!
Featured Promotions
I didn’t go crazy with promotions this week… but these two are pretty cool. The first one features some awesome audiobooks. The second has some great reads to start off the new year!

Ben Roberts hears voices…alien voices.
When word of his abilities spreads through the galactic grapevine, Ben ranks number one on an A.I.’s most wanted list to become their cybernated slave. A bleak prospect, but what if they offered him everything he ever dreamed of in exchange?
A headstrong spaceship, with an intelligence of its own, shows up to help Ben, but he doesn’t know if it can be trusted. When he discovers a powerful alien has taken refuge on Earth, Ben makes it his mission to rescue it from the race of A.I. beings.
Until next time, have fun and read a lot of books!
